Greene & Greene
Style Occasional Table Designed For A Family Room

Greene & Greene Style Occasional Table
This custom table is made from local quartersawn Red Oak. The top is a Greene & Greene Arts & Crafts style using splines and plugs, but mainly designed so that it won't warp or crack. The top is deceptively simple, taking longer to make than the rest of the table. It's stoutly built to take any sort of punishment kids, dogs or long use can dish out. The drawer is solid wood, using box joints to secure the front. It slides on wooden runners. Mortise and tenon joinery was used for the legs and rails. It's finished dark as was done in the 1920's, and is topped with Waterlox, a linseed and tung oil mix.
